Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026
This page explains, in plain terms, what Election2026.live collects, why, and how to have it removed. It is the Privacy Policy named in the signup forms on this site.
Who we are
Election2026.live is the website for Election Night 2026: Independent Edition, an eight-hour election-night broadcast on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The site’s registration list is for United Independents. Questions about this policy go to christopher@unitedindependents.us.
What we collect
The current registration form requires your name and email address. You can optionally add a mobile number and separately agree to text messages. When you submit it, we store:
- Your required name and email address, and your mobile number only if you separately choose text updates
- The relevant email and optional text consent wording and version, the time you agreed, and your signup source. Prior records may also retain a separately requested movement-participation preference from an earlier form
- The page you signed up from, the referring page if your browser sent one, and any campaign tags in the link you used (for example utm_source or utm_campaign)
- A one-way hashed form of your IP address (not the address itself) and your browser’s user-agent string, used only to block automated or repeated abuse of the form
The media and streaming partner form and the contact form store your name, email, and what you type in them (for partners: organization or channel, type, and optionally phone, audience size, website and message; for contact: topic and message), with the same hashed IP and user-agent fields. We use these only to reply to you.
Earlier watch-party tools may have collected the following optional information:
- Host a watch party: your email, and if you choose to enter them, your first name, ZIP code, and expected party size.
- Chime in: the question or comment you write and an optional display name. Nothing you submit is published unless a person reviews it first.
- Polls: your answer, linked to a hashed IP key so each poll counts one vote per person. Two small cookies in your browser remember that you voted so we can show you the results.
We do not collect payment information, and we do not load advertising or third-party analytics scripts on this site.
Why we collect it
The current email registration covers Election Night 2026 viewing details, confirmed guest and program updates, reminders, and ongoing updates from United Independents. You can unsubscribe anytime. Earlier event-only registrations keep their original consent; a later registration can add a new dated consent without replacing the original record. Optional text messages require their own explicit consent for Election Night 2026 and ongoing United Independents updates. Earlier text registrations keep their original wording unless you explicitly agree again. Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help when texting is active. Delivery services are being prepared; saving a registration does not mean an email or text has already been sent. Technical details help us understand referring links and protect the forms from spam.
How information is handled
We never sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with advertisers, campaigns, or other organizations. The records are kept in a private database on Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site, and are never shown on public pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare also handles standard technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. If we use email, text-message, or contact-management providers to deliver the updates you requested, they will receive only the information necessary to perform that service for us. Phone numbers and text-message consent are not shared with other organizations for their own marketing. We would disclose information only if the law required it.
Unsubscribe or delete your information
To stop receiving email, request a change to your saved notification preference, or have your information deleted, email christopher@unitedindependents.us and tell us what you want changed or removed. Include the email address or mobile number you used so the team can locate your record and verify your request. When texting is active, you can also reply STOP to stop text messages. Submitting a new registration does not unsubscribe an earlier record; contact the team to change an existing subscription.
Children
This site is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
